This custom-built multiphoton microscope is based on a SpectraPhysics Insight X3 tunable laser and can perform multiphoton-excited fluorescence imaging (epi detection) with 680-1300nm excitation. Three detection channels available: reflectance confocal, epi/backscattered multiphoton-excited fluorescence, and transmitted transient absorption. Transient absorption modality is currently set up for 520nm excitation, and tunable visible-wavelength probe, and capable of time-resolved imaging of non-fluorescent pigments (e.g. melanin, hemeproteins) with decay constants ranging 0.3 – 20 picoseconds. Available objectives include 20x 0.5 NA and 40x 0.8 NA water immersion, and 20x 0.75 NA air. Control and automation are implemented with custom software developed in house. Instrument available for collaborative grants/projects and can be further customized depending on needs.

Training is not provided, and access is currently limited to fee-for-service or research collaboration though grant funding mechanisms. For further information contact: jesse.wilson@colostate.edu
